Write for Us – Home Improvement & Decor Guest Post Submissions
Constructed Homes publishes practical articles on home improvement, renovation, interior design, gardening, cleaning and real estate. If you know your craft and can explain it clearly, we would love to publish your work.
Constructed Homes is a home and living blog for people who want to build, fix, decorate and enjoy the place they live. We accept guest posts from contractors, interior designers, gardeners, real estate professionals and home writers who have hands-on experience to share.
Our readers are homeowners and renters planning real projects – a kitchen remodel, a smarter small-space layout, a new garden bed, a deep-clean routine or their next home purchase. They come to us for advice they can actually follow, and every guest post we publish has to deliver exactly that.
Topics We Accept
We publish across every section of Constructed Homes. If your article fits one of the topics below and gives readers something genuinely useful, we want to read it.
Whole-home and room renovations, budgeting, hiring contractors, permits, DIY projects and before-and-after case studies.
Kitchen layouts, cabinets, countertops, appliances, storage solutions and kitchen remodel planning.
Bathroom remodels, tiles, fixtures, ventilation, waterproofing and small-bathroom design ideas.
Hardwood, laminate, vinyl, tile and carpet – choosing, installing, maintaining and comparing flooring options.
Design styles, layouts, colour schemes and styling tips for every room, from living rooms to bedrooms.
Choosing furniture, lighting plans, fixtures and buying guides that balance style, comfort and budget.
Clever storage, multi-purpose furniture and layout ideas for apartments, studios and compact homes.
Paint colours, finishes, wallpaper, accent walls and step-by-step painting guides.
Holiday and seasonal decorating ideas, festive styling and easy seasonal refreshes for the home.
Gardening, landscaping, lawn care, patios, decks, outdoor living spaces and curb appeal.
Cleaning routines, decluttering, storage systems, laundry tips and keeping a home organised.
Buying, selling and renting homes, home staging, property value, mortgages and moving tips.
If your idea sits anywhere within building, improving, decorating or enjoying a home, it probably has a place here. Not sure? Send us a short pitch first and we will tell you quickly whether to go ahead.

Submission Guidelines
These guidelines exist to protect the quality of what our readers receive. Please read them carefully before you submit – articles that do not follow them will be returned without review.
What We Accept vs What Gets Declined
- Step-by-step DIY and how-to guides
- Realistic cost breakdowns and project planning advice
- Design ideas with clear, practical styling tips
- Honest product, material and tool comparisons
- Well-structured articles with proper headings
- Real project case studies and before-and-after stories
- Insights drawn from hands-on professional experience
- Content already published elsewhere
- Promotional or advertorial writing
- Unsafe DIY advice (electrical, gas, structural)
- Generic lists with no original insight
- AI-generated filler without human expertise
- Excessive or unrelated links
- Articles under 1,000 words
- Plagiarised or spun articles
Every submission goes through a plagiarism check before an editor reads it. Articles with a high similarity score are returned without review, whatever the topic or the writer. Please only send work that is completely original and written for Constructed Homes.
How to Submit Your Home Guest Post
You do not need to pitch first for most topics – you can send a finished article straight away. Here is how the process works from submission to publication.
Follow the guidelines above. Aim for 1,500+ words with clear subheadings, practical steps and a strong introduction. Add your title and experience to the document.
Send your Google Doc or Word file to contact@constructedhomes.com with the subject line “Guest Post Submission [Your Topic]”.
An editor reads every submission personally and replies within 1–2 business days: accepted, accepted with revisions, or declined with brief feedback.
Approved articles go live within 3 to 7 business days. We email you the live URL on publication day so you can share it with your audience.
Who Should Write for Constructed Homes
Our readers spend real money and time on the advice they find here, so we look for contributors who genuinely know their subject – not just people who can write around it.
We especially welcome contractors and builders, architects, interior designers and decorators, plumbers and electricians, landscapers and gardeners, professional organisers and cleaners, real estate agents, property investors and experienced home and DIY bloggers.
Formal qualifications are not essential. Hands-on experience – renovating your own home, designing on a budget, growing your own garden – is valuable here too, as long as your advice is safe, accurate and clearly explained.
We do not publish articles that are mainly AI-generated. You are welcome to use AI tools for research or editing, but the knowledge, insight and voice in your article must come from a real person who understands the topic. Submissions that read as AI-written without clear human expertise will be declined.
